Arthur W. Davidson, 86, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at his home.
Born Jan. 23, 1929 in Brookport, Ill., he was the son of Claude Davidson and Stella (Miller) Davidson Clark.
He married Margaret L. Nelder on March 18, 1949 in Godfrey. She survives.
Art worked as a mold maker at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Alton for 36 ½ years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed Cardinals baseball, country music, animals, and loved to spin tall tales.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, James L. (Susan) Davidson of Oregon, Michael D. (Kathleen) Davidson of Alton, and Lane Davidson of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Debbie Davidson (Henry Allhoff) of Chesterfield, Mo.; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Billie (Ed) Groshan, Barbara Nelder, Eileen Scheffel, and Bernice Davis; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Cal Davis.
No services for Art will be held, but memorial donations may be made to St. Louis Senior Dog Project or to the American Cancer Society.
