Blanche E. Drew, 87, passed away at 1:50 pm Thursday, January 8, 2015 at her home.
She was born on October 21, 1927 in Bethalto, IL, the daughter of Jacob and Sylvia (Richardson) Gaither.
She married Henry L. Drew on May 26, 1956 in Alton. He preceded her in death on January 30, 1981.
Blanche was a secretary for Cox Furniture Company in St. Louis, Missouri for 30 years. She was a member of the Bethalto Church of God and the Professional Business Women’s Club in Alton. She enjoyed traveling, gospel music and most of all spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a brother, Howard Gaither of Augusta, GA; her nieces and nephews, Gary (Wanda) Bourland, Beverly Rhodes all of Bethalto, Debbie (Danny) Smith of Enid, OK, Bob (Debbie) Hamilton, David Hamilton and Ricky Hamilton all of Bethalto, LaVonne (Roger) Beale of Peach Tree City, GA, Ronnie Gaither of GA and Dolores Felt of Augusta, GA; a cousin, Jimmy (June) Coffey of Success, MO and many great nieces, nephews as well as many great, great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Everett Bourland and Mildred and Pete Hamilton and two nieces, Sharon Lawrence and Linda Gammel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto
Funeral services will be at 11 am on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the funeral home with Brother Don Arnold officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
