Catherine M. Grounds-Weber, 28, passed away in her sleep in her grandmother’s home in Godfrey at 8:13 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014. Born June 20, 1986 in Alton, she was the daughter of Teresa Grounds of East Alton. Catherine was a homemaker and loved cooking, making crafts and being busy with her children. She attended St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. On April 19, 2008 she married Raymond Anthony Weber in Woodburn. He survives. Along with her mother and husband, she is survived by two sons, Dameen Alexzander and Asher Anthony both of Hornsby, her grandmother, Cathy Grounds of Godfrey, a brother, Michael Stephen Rynders of Decatur, uncle and aunt, John and Annette Grounds of Alton, her in-laws, Vincent L. and Paula R. Weber of Hornsby and grandparents-in-law, Velma Weber of Brighton and Gordon and Irene Nessl of Litchfield. She was preceded in death by her grandfather John Grounds. A memorial visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Pohlman will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to a college trust fund set up for her sons c/o CNB Bank or to a general memorial fund for her sons at the UCB Bank in Bunker Hill.
