Dennis E. Halliday, 73, passed away at 1:02 pm Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 26, 1942 in Alton, IL, the son of Edward and Carrie (Bushnell) Halliday.
He married Beverley Weigel on March 25, 1972. She survives.
Dennis was an auditor for the Department of Defense, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto where he served as youth elder and an usher. He was a member of the Wood River Moose Lodge #1349, where he enjoyed golfing in their league. He also liked to travel and most of all he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Teresa Halliday of Pinehurst, NC, a daughter, Angela Halliday of Bethalto and a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Jim Mueller of Edwardsville.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Friday, September 11, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue from 10 am until funeral services at 11 am Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto with Pastor Mark Hofferber, Pastor Kale Hanson, Pastor Willard Meyer and Vicar Aaron Mueller officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
