Dustin Hoose

Dustin Lee Van Hoose, 36, of Wood River, formerly of Jerseyville, died unexpectedly at 7:35 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at his residence. He was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Alton on August 13, 1980 and was raised in the Jerseyville area, graduating in 1999 from Jersey Community High School, where he excelled in sports, participating on the Panther wrestling and football teams.   His enthusiasm and passion for the sport of wrestling inspired several nephews as well as a niece to take on the sport.He had a personality bigger than life, and was the epitome of a kid at heart.  He brought joy to those around him and if he was around, you knew you were in for a good time.Dustin was into health and fitness and could be found working out at either Snap Fitness in Jerseyville, or with his brother Cody at Leisure World in Bethalto, all of which helped with the demands of his occupation as a floor installer with Brandon Green Flooring.He married the former Stephanie Richert and together they were the parents of four children, all of whom were the loves of his life.  The pride and joy that his children gave him can not possibly be described in words.Surviving are his parents, William and Lisa Van Hoose Sr. of Wood River; his four children, Faith Ann, Hailee Bell, Gracie Nicole and Ashton Lee all at home; a brother, Cody Van Hoose of Glen Carbon; and two sisters, Rachel Beemer and Tiffany Van Hoose both of Jerseyville;  his grandparents, Mary McCoy Ready of Grafton, Mary and Carl Prather of Wood River, and William and Mary Van Hoose of Lenzburg; along with his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Lynn McCoy; two brothers, Joseph Johnson who died Aug. 10, 2007 and William D. Van Hoose Jr. who died three years to the date on May 16, 2014; his grandparents, Dale McCoy, Raymond "Gene" Ready, and William and Irene Perdun;  and an aunt, Lori (McCoy) Crowe.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday.  Rev. John Gibson will officiate.He will be laid to rest in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials would be appreciated to the family in care of Crawford Funeral Home.
