Elza L. Duniphan, 83, passed away at 9:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on August 29, 1933 in McGee, MO, the son of the late Leonard and Clara (Prince) Duniphan.
Elza married Delores Duniphan on December 22, 1953 in Holly Springs, MS. She survives.
He worked as a laborer for Laclede Steel for 33.5 years. Elza served in the United States Army. He was a Deacon at Christway Church in Godfrey. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, volunteering, and music. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Janice (Gerald) Prosise of Virginia, Terry Duniphan of Roxana, Cindy (Jack) Hanna of Jerseyville; three siblings, Lowell Duniphan, Levurn Duniphan and Brenda Caudill; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Buddy.
He is preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Visitation we be from 10 am until time of funeral service at 11 am Monday, October 31, 2016 at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral home in Godfrey.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials may be to the Alzheimer’s Association.
