Henry Cathorall

Henry A. Cathorall, 79, passed away, on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at St. Louis University Hospital.He was born October 18, 1937, in Alton, Illinois, the son of Howard and Josephine (Keiser) Cathorall.  Henry married Karen L. Jones on October 7, 1961, in Bethalto. She survives.He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves.Henry worked for Godfrey Box Board/Mead as a Machinist prior to retirement. He enjoyed raccoon hunting, water skiing, camping, loved to go on walks and his dog Magnum. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.In addition to his wife, survivors include two children and their spouses, Hank and Melinda Cathorall of Bethalto, Nichole “Nikki” and John Becker of The Woodlands, TX; four grandchildren, Zac Cathorall, Ian Becker, Samuel “Sam” Becker, Nicholas Becker; two siblings and their spouses, Cindy and Don Chapman of Bethalto, Howard and Tracy Cathorall of O’Fallon; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Becky Cathorall. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Mark Hofferber officiating.Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Madison County Humane Society.An online condolence and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com.
