James Wilkie

James E Wilkie, 76, of Brighton, passed away at 9:42 am on Sun Aug 12, 2018 at Christian Hospital Northeast. He was born on Sept 27, 1941 in Aurora, IL to Otto & Eldora (Mordan) Wilkie.He married Sheila (Peters) Wilkie of Brighton on Nov 20, 1976 in Brighton. He is survived by sons & daughter in law: Bryce & Brandy Wilkie of Brighton and Drew Wilkie of Ferguson, MO, 1 granddaughter: Anya Alexis Wilkie, sisters and brothers in laws: Carol & Jim Moake of Rosamond, CA, Ruth Light of Bolingbrook, IL and Dody & Ron Lynch of Bolingbrook, brothers & sisters in laws: Robert & Gwenn Wilkie of Greenville, TX and Richard & Angie Wilkie of New Richmond, WI, mother in law: Marguerite Peters of Hardin, IL, brother & sister in law: Curt & Cheri Peters of Hardin, IL and sister in law: Brenda & Brian Schreiber of Elk River, MN and nieces and nephews .Jim was a science teacher and coach for the Southwestern School District #9 and was the scorekeeper for the Jr and Senior High Schools for over 30 years; he was a member of the 1^st Presbyterian Church in Brighton and a member of the church Men’s Group.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: John Wilkie and father in law: Cecil A. Peters.   Visitation will be 4-8 pm on Thurs Aug 16, 2018 at the 1^st Presbyterian Church in Brighton  Funeral Services will be at 11 am on Fri Aug 17, 2018 at the 1^st Presbyterian Church in Brighton with Rev Marc Wendleton officiating       Cremation will follow services and burial will be at a later date.  Memorial may be made to the 1^st Presbyterian Church in Brighton or the Brighton Betsey Ann Firefighters Fund Targhetta & Wooldridge F H in Brighton in charge of arrangements.
