James Farrow

James M. Farrow, 72, died at 10:35 a.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at his residence. He was born February 10, 1946 in Belleville, IL the son of the late Charles and Rowena (Boyer) Farrow. He grew up in Belleville and attended Blessed Sacrament grade school and Belleville Township High School (now Belleville West). He loved camping, fishing, and boating. Jim was an avid water skier up into his 50’s and he enjoyed his yard and swimming pool. His favorite pass time was shooting pool. In his over 50 years of playing in the St. Louis metro area he played some of the best and helped many younger players improve their game. He worked as a meat cutter and meat manager for Kroger for twenty years until they closed in 1986. He then joined Labor Local #110 in St. Louis working for Spirco and Spirtas Wrecking for 20 years. Jim was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2007 and 2008 but still enjoyed life as a cancer survivor. On April 5, 2005 in Jamaica he married his sweetheart and best friend, Peggy Lynn (Parker) and they loved traveling to different cities during their marriage. Besides Peggy surviving are one daughter, Michelle Johannes (Mark) of Colorado Springs, CO, one son, Thomas Farrow of Oxford, MS, 13 grandchildren, one brother, Bill Farrow (Nancy) of Paris, TN, three step-sons, Steven, John and Gregory Garrison, and his mother in law, Esther Parker of Alton. Preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Farrow, one sister, Marilyn Boellinger and his father in law, Griffin Parker. No services are scheduled.
