KAREN WEBSTER FUNK, 66, of Jerseyville, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017, 5:35 a.m. at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born on July 13, 1951 in Carrollton, and is the daughter of the late C. R. Webster and Anna Ruth (nee: Baugh) Webster who resides in Bethalto.
She married Gary Funk and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2010.
She was a 1969 graduate of Calhoun High School, and enjoyed photography, history and was a past president of the Calhoun Republican Women’s Club.
In addition to her mother, she is also survived by a son; Trevor J. Alderfer of Edwardsville, a daughter; Nichole L. Alderfer of St. Louis, her siblings; Sue Suhling of Springfield, Marg Opp of Bethalto, Pam Watson of Jerseyville, Charles Webster of Edwardsville, Sandy Deibel of St. Louis, and Doug Webster of Alton; two grandchildren; Nathan M. Alderfer and Katelyn N. Alderfer; four great-grandchildren; Alexis, Bryleigh, Cailyn, and Jaxon; a special friend; Larry Heffington of Kampsville.
In addition to her father and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son; Nathanial D. Alderfer who passed away on November 13, 2017.
Visitation for Karen and her son Nathanial will be on Saturday, January 6, 2018, 1:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Second Chances Community Church, 4836 N. Alby Street in Godfrey with Pastor Jim Kiel officiating.
Memorials may be made to Alton Area Animal Aid Association or to a memorial fund of one’s choice.
