Kerren Vollmer

Godfrey |

Kerren Anne Vollmer slipped the bonds of earth and into the hands of the Lord, peacefully, and with family by her side on Thursday, February 8, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Services will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Gents Funeral Home in Alton, Illinois. Graveside services will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park. Sports jerseys are encouraged.

Kerren was born July 3, 1945, in Fulton, Missouri to Eden Petersen and was raised in Godfrey, Illinois. Kerren married her high school sweetheart, Roger Vollmer on August 22, 1964, and the two set out for Flagstaff, Arizona where they would spend the next thirty-eight years.

Kerren raised two kids and worked in many capacities around Flagstaff all while running Girl Scout Troop 243, acting as a member of the Flagstaff Parks and Recreation Commission, and serving in the Flagstaff Rotary Club, including a term as club President in 1998. Kerren and Roger owned and operated the Gray Line Sightseeing of Flagstaff for several years; taking pride in sharing the gifts Northern Arizona had to offer with those who visited. She was also a member of the Gray Line worldwide Board of Directors. Kerren was presented with the ATHENA Award by the Greater Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce in 1997 celebrating her many years of promotion and development of Flagstaff.

Kerren and Roger moved to North Idaho in 2002 to be closer to grand kids. Eventually settling in Sandpoint, she worked for Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management and the American Red Cross. Kerren volunteered her time with Sandpoint Little League and enjoyed being a super fan at baseball, football, and basketball games.

Kerren is preceded in death by her loving mother Eden (BaBa) Peterson. Kerren is survived by her doting and loving husband of fifty-nine years, Roger Vollmer, daughter Leslie (Kurt) Lehman of Sagle, ID, son David (Tina) Vollmer of Tulsa, Oklahoma, five grand kids, Tyler, Auggie and Andrew Lehman (Sagle) and Serenity and Jayden Vollmer (Tulsa), and her favorite niece, Eden Rena’e (Lindsay) Barnes of Godfrey, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kerren’s name to Sandpoint Little League, PO Box 832, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
