Louis F. Hartmann, 70, of Wood River, surrounded by family, passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 12:25 pm at Kindred Hospital, in St. Louis, MO.
He was born on December 20, 1947, in Edwardsville, IL, the son of Charles and Martha (nee Johnson) Helmantoler.
Louie was married to Freddie Artimisi-Kitsch on December 1, 1973, at White Law Baptist Church in Wood River.
He worked as a member of Iron Worker on Local 392 for 20 years. In his younger years, Louie enjoyed hunting squirrels with his Pop, fishing and camping. In more recent years, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and caring for his beloved cat, Odessa
Along with his wife, Louie is survived by his children, Stanley (Stephanie) Morgan of Jerseyville, Christopher (Vickie) Morgan of Granite City, Angie (Andy) Hentz of Pontoon Beach, and Stephanie (Nick) Osburn of Rosewood Heights; four grandchildren, Logan, MaryLorraine, Charlie, and Sarah; and three sisters, Mari-Sue, Jodi and Tina.
Louis was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Becca Morgan; his parents; and brothers.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 10 am until time of memorial service at 12 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor James Pratt will officiate
Private burial for the family will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
