Rosemary Ringhausen

Rosemary Ringhausen, 78, wife of Hubert, of Jerseyville, died at 1:55 a.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab after a lengthy period of declining health. 

She was born in Alton, IL on May 5, 1939 to the late Clarence and Lovie (Beiderman) Krause.

She graduated from Jerseyville High School with the Class of 1957.  She worked for the Central Illinois Power Service Company and the General Telephone Company as Head Cashier.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Jerseyville since 1959.  She sang in the church choir for 35 years.  She had served as a Deacon of the Church for 9 years and taught Sunday School for 5 years.  She loved to send cards to everyone she knew for birthdays, special occasions, and those who were ill.  She loved visiting those who were sick or just needed to see a smiling face.  She loved working in the church and serving the Lord.  She was very kind, gentle, soft spoken, caring, compassionate, and loved the Lord with all her heart.  Studying the bible and reading daily mediations and e-mailing them to everyone she knew was one of her favorite past times.  A photographer and making photo albums with the pictures she had taken, was a hobby of hers.  Going to musicals and plays gave her so much pleasure especially if she went to the Fox or Muny.  Flowers in beautiful gardens were very special and she loved roses, especially pink roses.  Everyone she met she greeted with her beautiful blue eyes and lovely smile.

She was married to Hubert H. Ringhausen at the First Presbyterian Church in Jerseyville, and together they shared 58 years of marriage. 

Surviving is her husband, Hubert of Jerseyville, Son, Stanley Ringhausen of Godfrey, IL; Daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Charles Ambrose of Dallas, TX and Grand-daughter Laura Kay Ambrose of Dallas, TX. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Jerseyville, 400 S State St. Visitation will continue from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018. Officiate Pastor John Beehler.

Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church in Jerseyille in Memory of Rosemary Ringhausen – designated fund to be determined by the family.  Alexander and Gubser Funeral Home of Jerseyville is in charge of arrangements.
