Severine J. Baalman, 96, passed away on March 24, 2024, at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab.
He was born on January 2, 1928, in Meppen, IL to the late Joseph and Helena (Droge) Baalman.
Severine married Mary Jane Kronable on July 24, 1954, she preceded him in death.
Severine was a member of the Calhoun County Fair Board and enjoyed fishing. He was a lifetime farmer and owned the Hardin Drive-In for 25 years. He served his country in the United States Army.
He is survived by two sons, Randall John (Fayetta) Baalman and Gregory Joseph (Kim) Baalman; one daughter-in-law, Luann Baalman; one sister, France Hurley; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James William Baalman; a granddaughter, Stephanie Jane Baalman; five siblings, Rosella Baalman, Gilbert Baalman, Victor Baalman, Joseph Baalman, and Phyllis Baalman
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Norbert’s Church in Hardin.
Burial will follow at St. Norbert’s Cemetery in Hardin.
Memorials can be made by the masses or by family choice.
